About Us

Meet Dr. John Faubl

Dr. John Faubl received his B.A. in psychology from Marquette University in 1992. He entered the University of Illinois Dental School in Chicago in 1992. He received a B.S. in Dentistry in 1994 and his D.D.S. degree in 1996, graduating with honors.

He graduated fourth in his class and received the Harry Saxon Scholarship for Academic Excellence. He was one of two students selected to participate in an oral surgery externship at UIC.

He is a member of numerous professional associations including: American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, and McHenry County Dental Society.

Upon graduation, Dr. Faubl associated in Vernon Hills for 1 year. He then began an associateship in Woodstock for over 2 years. In early 2000, he decided he would like to open his own office. In May 2000, Faubl Family Dentistry was opened in Huntley.

Dr Faubl lives in Algonquin with his wife Amy whom he met while at Marquette University. They have an adult son and daughter.

Dr. Faubl is constantly trying to improve his golf game.

Meet Debbie Scaccianoce-Hanson

Debbie Scaccianoce-Hanson is originally from Chicago. When she moved to McHenry County over 25 years ago, she was concerned there were no alleys for the garbage cans! She has since adjusted to suburban life and lives in Huntley with her husband Craig and their two dogs. Craig owns a high performance shop in Mundelein, which is perfect, because Debbie is a huge car girl! She has two amazing kids, both graduates of Huntley High School and still live locally.

Debbie has worked at Faubl Family Dentistry for almost 20 years. She always says our patients are like family! Most of the time you will finder her at the front desk, but does enjoy occasionally assisting during procedures. Her favorite aspect of working at Faubl Family Dentistry is interacting with patients.

Outside of work Debbie and her husband love to ride motorcycles. They also enjoy traveling cross country and camping in their motorcoach. When not riding motorcycles and traveling, you will find Debbie working in her garden.

Meet Lauri Slaughter

Lauri Slaughter grew up in Chicago and moved to McHenry in 1976. She graduated from McHenry High School in 1980. She found dentistry very interesting while in braces, attended Elgin Community College for Dental Assisting, and now has more than 25 years of experience. Lauri has 3 children, 2 dogs Gracie and Apollo, and recently became a grandma. She enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and travel.

Meet Elizabeth “Liz” Morris

Liz Morris was born in Chicago, but grew up in Des Plaines with her parents and four siblings. She attended St. Emily Catholic School in Mt. Prospect and went on to graduate from Maine West High School in 2001. During the summer after graduation, she started working for her father’s dental practice as a hygiene assistant, not realizing this was going to spark her interest in the dental world. She had initially decided to attend University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana for kinesiology, but after a year and a half she realized it wasn’t for her. Knowing that she wanted to be in the medical field, she continued working with her father, but also worked at Glenbrook ER where she eventually met her husband, Steve, a Northbrook FF/PM. Liz and Steve were married in 2011 and had 2 daughters when they decided to move to Huntley. When the time felt right, she made the choice to go back to school for dental hygiene and graduated from Harper College in 2016. Since then, they have added 2 more children (a son and daughter) to their family.

Liz started working at Faubl Family Dentistry as a “fill-in” right after graduation while also working at two other offices. She left the other practices in 2019 after having her last daughter, was offered to work part-time at FFD, and has now been their full-time hygienist since September 2021. She loves the family atmosphere at FFD, enjoys running into friendly faces outside of the office, and being so close to home while being a working mom is definitely a plus! Outside of work her kids keep her busy with their sports and extracurricular activities. She loves spending time with her family and friends, enjoys being outdoors in the summertime, tolerates the winters here, and absolutely HATES spiders!

Meet Genevieve Hochwarter

Genevieve Hochwarter grew up in La Grange Park and the near west side of Chicago. She attended Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago for high school then Illinois State University. Shortly after completing a Liberal Arts Bachelor’s Degree in 1990 she married her husband, Jack. Since moving to the area in 1992, they have added three boys to their family.

When not spending time with her family, Genevieve is an extremely active volunteer in our community. She has served as the President of the Huntley Area Public Library Friends Foundation for over 20 years. During her tenure as President, she helped raise over 1 million dollars for the Huntley Area Public Library.

Genevieve started working at Faubl Family Dentistry in 2013. She began working part-time by making patient reminder calls and slowly increased her hours to participate in all aspects of the front desk. Her favorite job responsibility, next to interacting with our wonderful patients, is making Debbie laugh.

Meet Beth Voyles

Beth has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 20 years. She graduated with her degree from College of DuPage. She enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and making them feel as comfortable as possible. Beth loves helping people maintain a healthy smile through education and guidance and strives to ease dental anxiety with comfort and a gentle touch while achieving a thorough cleaning.

In her spare time, she like to be with her two beautiful daughters whether it’s movie night, shopping, or going for nature walks.
